The Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) is an independent, statutory body of eminent South African scholars and scientists. It was established in terms of an Act of Parliament. Its primary objective is to generate evidence-based solutions to the problems and challenges facing South African society.

ASSAf seeks to appoint a Programme Officer: STEAMI and Humanities within its Science Advisory Programme. ASSAf is based in Pretoria. The incumbent will be responsible for the design and implementation of the Academy’s projects in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences and Science, Technology, Arts, Mathematics, and Innovation (STEAMI, supporting study panels, participating in science engagement, writing project proposals, maintaining records of all project activities and monitoring expenditure.

This full-time position requires: a Master’s degree in Science Policy or Project Management or similar qualification; at least five years professional experience in academia or a policy-related environment with a track record of conducting research with a good publication record.

Content knowledge in science education and a PhD would be added advantages.

The remuneration package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.All candidates who comply with the requirements are invited to apply.
