ASSAf-DST-NRF Second Annual South African Young Scientists’ Conference

Theme: Changing Lives Through Chemistry
Main Conference: 26-27 September 2011
Venue: Diep in Die Berg Conference and Function Centre, Pretoria
Mentoring workshop: 28 September 2011
Venue: Holiday Inn Express, Sunnypark-Pretoria

The conference is aimed at young male and female scientists, and the following criteria apply for presenters:
• Be resident in South Africa
• Be under the age of forty (40)
• Be in possession of at least a Master’s degree
• Have a research interest in the International Year theme

Participation of PhD, Post-Doc, and young, early-career researchers and scientists is encouraged.

The Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf), the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the National Research Foundation (NRF) will host the second Annual Young Scientists Conference from 26-28 September 2011 at the Diep in Die Berg Conference and Function Centre. The conference is aligned to the 2011 International Year Theme, Chemistry.

Please find attached the call for abstracts as well as an abstract submission form. The latter is to be submitted together with the abstract no later than Monday 13 June 2011.
