Invitation to Skills to prepare South Africa for future pandemics

When it comes to igniting conversations around science, the National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) is proud of its ongoing collaboration with the Science Forum South Africa (SFSA), an initiative of the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI)

Igniting conversations about science: SFSA 2021 will, for the 7th year, take place from Wednesday 1 to Friday 3 December 2021. It will take place on a digital platform, enabling remote but active participation from across the world. Attendance is free.

The NSTF’s panel discussion at the SFSA: The NSTF will host two panel sessions at the SFSA on Skills to prepare South Africa for future pandemics, under the auspices of the NSTF’s Science Councils and Statutory Bodies sector. Two 90 minutes sessions will take place on 1 December 2021 under the following sub-themes as follows:

09:00-10:30: Skills for pandemics – Specialised research areas to prioritise
13:30-15:00: Skills for pandemics – Monitoring, modelling and communication
