The need to develop a more equitable and unified strategy for global health, particularly in preparing for and responding to future pandemics has become apparent. The upcoming webinar, “Catalysing Change: A Global Health Approach in the Wake of Pandemics” on 14 May 2024, brings together experts from national and international health bodies, the political arena, and the pharmaceutical industry to address the pressing issues of global health politics and pandemic prevention.

A debate that explores the opposing  perspectives on AI's trajectory: the cautionary stance that fears its unchecked growth and potential harm, and the optimistic view that celebrates its achievements and future promise.

Science academies in Africa play a significant role in contributing science evidence to support policy development and implementation across service delivery domains, including education. It is on this basis that the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) in partnership with the Lesotho Academy of Science and Technology (LAST), the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS) and the Lesotho Young Academy of Science (LesYAS), will jointly host a webinar in celebration of Africa day on May 24, 2024.
